Best for Straight Leg

The Mama's and Papas' Slim jeans are a great cut. They sit very low under the bump, so provide lots of comfort and are ideal for even the later weeks of pregnancy.  The shape held superbly for two days and the interesting stitching around the top of the legs added a nice detail to the style.  They are also well-priced at £36 www.mamasandpapas.com

Best for Jeggings

Jojo Maman Bebe have an uber-comfortable pair of jeggings with subtle pocket-elastication.  The material is soft against the skin and stretchy without being too clingy.  They lost their shape very slightly but washed well without streaking or losing colour. £29 www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk

Best for Boot-Cut

Isabella Oliver Marilyn Maternity Jeans- a lovely brand, the jeans arrived in fantastic luxury packaging. The elasticated band around the waist is stretchy but secure and not too low. They are comfortable and well-fitting with a perfect length for both low heels and pumps, making them equally dressy and casual. After two days wear they needed to be washed to get back to the original shape, however, they washed superbly and retained all of their colour. £99 www.isabellaoliver.com

Best for skinny fit 

Asos Maternity - Iggy.  These jeans look very small when they are pulled out of the packaging... however, they are super-stretchy and are a great 'on-trend' style which go with pumps as well as heels.  They have elasticated pockets - which are very subtle and they sit nice and low under the bump.  After two days wear they still retained their shape.  After two washes the black pair (we also tried the white) lost some colour. £30 www.asos.co.uk
